Meysam Bayat

Meysam Bayat is a PhD student in the School of Science and Technology at City, University of London. Under the supervision of Professor KD Tsavdaridis, his research focuses on steel connections and perforated beams. Before this, he joined Jarf Ideh Zaman Civil Engineering Company, and his primary responsibility was the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures and execute them.

He holds a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (BSc) and a master’s in Structural Civil Engineering (MSc). Also, he is a licensed engineer in civil engineering in Iran. His expertise is Finite Element Modelling techniques using advanced FE models in ABAQUS based on Python scripts.

Applications of AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science as well as Data Mining in civil engineering are his interests.. He intends to use artificial intelligence to drastically reduce computational costs and overcome traditional FE modelling limitations. He aims to develop a tool to design Reduced Web Section Connections and perforated beams.
